Wonders of Tea

Tea is one of the most popular caffeinated beverages in the world. In Pakistan tea is the favorite drink of every age group an of every occasion. There are many varieties of this drink, and the content of caffeine in each is different. At the same time, despite its different preparation methods and formulations, it also has a broad, almost universal appeal. There is some scattered evidence about the benefits of tea on the brain. Research found effect of regular tea drinking on our brain structure. The study says that people who regularly drink tea may have advantage who do not drink it and have a better brain structure. Studies have shown that drinking tea may lead to increased connectivity of brain functions and structures.

The study, titled "Habitual Tea Drinking Regulates Brain Efficiency: Evidence from Brain Connectivity Assessment," was published in the journal "Aging." A group of participants was asked to fill out a questionnaire on tea drinking habits, which clarified how often they drink tea. Participants were 60 years of age or older and provided detailed information about their mental health, daily life style and overall health status. Participants were then divided into two groups: tea drinkers and non-tea drinkers, and MRI scans were performed. They also underwent a series of tests.

Scientists have found that there are significant differences in connectivity between tea drinkers and non-tea drinkers. The focus of this research is the default mode network (DMN), which is a large network connecting various parts of the brain. The study report said: "The observations in this study partially support the hypothesis that tea drinking has a positive effect on brain tissue, and that due to the increased efficiency of the global network in the brain structure of tea drinkers, tea drinking is connected to function and structure. It is speculated that drinking tea can reduce the structural left asymmetry between the hemispheres."

However, the scale of this study was very small, because the total number of participants were only 36, while the number of women were only 6. Therefore, the results of this study may be related to a small amount of salt in flour.
