What Actually Politics Is?

From the time when I understood things, I usually heard that the word "politics" is "dirty", and when people talk or discuss politics in the world, they will think of all negative thoughts. How can bad, sick and evil in nature have great significance? This question led me to do some research and understand the concept of the word "politics". When I learned the basic meaning of the word "politics", I was shocked that no one was engaged in political activities because it is worth politics Home to practice, maybe our politicians. I don't even know the exact meaning of the word "politics". Therefore, my dear readers let me share the knowledge I extracted.

The word "politics" comes from the Greek "polis", meaning "urban country". In the ancient world, urban states were small countries regarded as cultural and civilized centers, and people interacted under a unified government. What happens in the metropolis is politics. Therefore, the origin of the term implies that politics is a term that covers the total number of human activities occurring in urban countries. So far, it means everything that happened in the state and between states.

Politics as a science of government
As a science, it is to a large extent a systematic knowledge system with practicality, involving government and regulations, maintenance and development, and national defense and national expansion. It also involves protecting the rights of its citizens, safeguarding and promoting morality, harmony and peace in human relations.

Politics is the art of government
This is an art because it involves exercising control or authority within society through leaders reaching and executing consensus. It involves the government's process of subtly meeting the needs of society by carefully allocating benefits and rewarding and punishing measures. This is what David Easton meant when he defined politics as "the authoritative distribution of value." According to this definition, politics only occurs within a polity or government agency. In other words, only processes and events that occur in government departments, departments, and offices are called “political”, while processes and events such as religion and family are called “non-political.” of". In this sense, politicians and political parties are considered "political", while civil society is considered non-political.

Political representation of social activities
Essentially, this is personal interaction. As the Greek philosopher Aristotle explained, this is a master science that masters the structure, purpose and ideals of one's life. Therefore, politics does not come from the activities of one person, but from the activities of many people.

Politics is about conflict and cooperation
On the one hand, conflict is caused by diversity among individuals. There are differences in the way people perceive things, and there are differences in almost all possible aspects of life. On the other hand, cooperation is based on the common goal of men to achieve a happy life. Although people quarrel and fight, it is undeniable that they long for peace. The process of overcoming conflict to gain order, and then maintaining order is politics. In other words, politics is essentially a way to resolve conflicts. If our political situation is diametrically opposed today, then we can say that politics is the cause of conflict at all levels, including family politics, neighbor politics, family politics, friend politics, business politics, religious politics, national politics and national politics.

Politics is the establishment, maintenance and revision of social norms or rules
As the goal of resolving conflicts, politics is to establish order in society, and the basis of today's order is law. It is undeniable that religion and other ancient institutions have lost their central role as sources of order. It is now the undisputed law that orders the establishment of institutions. Modern countries and international organizations rely on the sufficiency and effectiveness of their laws to meet people’s demands for domestic and international peace. Therefore, broadly speaking, politics refers to the resolution of conflicts by establishing, maintaining, and revising social norms or rules.

Is politics a public matter or a national field
Traditionally, "public" refers to a state institution where the broad masses of people meet their common interests through taxation. This is in contrast to "private", which refers to civil society funded by private individuals to support their own interests. In Greek, "state transaction (public)" is characteristic of the word "politics". When the Greek philosopher Aristotle said, "Born people are political animals," he meant that people naturally tend to live in a society. In addition to private life, a person must also have a public life, because this can perfect his essence and give him a "good life". In addition, social theorists even believe that common interests can only be achieved through the active participation of citizens. Education and moral and intellectual enlightenment are the few things that arise from public life.

Who gets what, when and how
This is Harold Lasswell's famous definition. This definition emphasizes the reality of "scarcity" in society. Although human needs and desires are so many and numerous, resources are always limited. The struggle to allocate scarce resources, determine what to produce, and how to allocate and use these resources is called politics. Modern political theory establishes a unique connection between politics and power, and therefore fits this definition. Power creates structure and explains the struggle between individuals or groups of individuals. In this sense, politics deviates from ethics, because as long as it can use any means, as long as it can achieve its purpose, any means can be used to obtain what is expected.

Politics is a way to understand and arrange social affairs, and it is also a way for people to gain greater control over the situation
"Order" and "understanding of reality" are determined by the people's political orientation. People think and organize the world as politics. Without politics, there will be anarchy and a continuous state of war. But its existence establishes order in various forms. It produced different kinds of government: monarchy, aristocracy and democracy. Whether a society should be ruled by one person, a selected minority, or one person is a priority issue, depending on the temperament of the affected population. The important thing is that politics can help people better control their own living conditions.

So if this is the true meaning of politics, what are our politicians practicing? If they are practicing other things, can they please explain?
