Masoor Pakora (Fritters)

Imagine one day, you have nothing to do , but still have to cook lunch for your family. Of course we all have been through this situation in our life and I believe most of the time this happens. So sometimes you order food from a restaurant but most of the time you cook and you go for easy to cook things in this summer season.  With comfort food the first dish come into mind is Dal Chawal on the top of the list. But today I have bring an easy to cook delicious recipe 'Masoor Pakora'. Yes you heard me right. 

Dal coexists with the word 'conmfortable'. The nutritional vakue of dal adds comfor as well.  When it comes to masoor dal it is a powerful source of nutrients. A cup of masoor dal contains 230 calories, 16 grams of dietary fiber, 18 grams of protein, 6.6 gram iron, 40 grams carbohydrates and only 0.8 grams fats. So it can be concluded that eating one cup of masoor dal daily is enough to provide all the necessary nutrients to our body.

Recipe of Masoor Pakora

Ingredients
Masoor Dal - one small bowl
Onion - half finely chopped
Green Chilli- 2 finely chopped
Coriander leaves - one teaspoon chopped
Ginger - half teaspoon sliced
Nigella seeds - less than half teaspoon
Salt - as per taste
Oil - for frying

Preparation
1. Soak the Masoor Dal in water for two to three hours.
2. Make a paste of Dal by adding salt in grinder.
3. Take out the paste in a bowl and add onion, green chilli, coriander, ginger and nigella seeds and mix them well.
4. Heat oil for deep frying on high flame. Once the oil is hot enough you may low down the flame.
5. Make small balls of the mixture and but in the oil fry them on medium flame.
6. Once the pakoras turn dark brown, take them out in a serving plate.
